The pricing page says the first 10GB of storage is always free, there are no minimum file size or storage duration fees, and egress is free up to 3x your average monthly stored data, then $0.01 per GB. Class A, B and C API calls are free for pay-as-you-go customers, and Class D calls cost $0.004 per 10,000 with the first 2,500 a day free. You can also commit for one to five years and lock the rate. The free allowance is 10GB of storage, which suits a prototype or a small backup set and nothing large. After that you pay $6.95 per TB for 30 days. Egress is free only up to 3x the average amount you store each month, then $0.01 per GB. If you store 1 TB and serve 10 TB a month, you pay for the 7 TB above the free amount. The best production detail comes from one Hacker News comment in March 2024: a weekly maintenance window, support that asked many questions, a 10-hour shutdown during the Log4j2 CVE, and uploads that returned success while the stored file was 0 bytes. That is one person's report, and it is two years old, so treat it as a checklist for testing: verify uploads and read the status page. Pricing has moved over time. Backblaze's B2 1.0 launch post listed $0.005 per GB per month, and the current page lists $6.95 per TB.
