Tunneling & Networking
Expose local services without opening ports. Free with Cloudflare Zero Trust for up to 50 users.
Keeps your home server's ports closed while the world reaches the app. Cloudflare Tunnel connects a service to Cloudflare's network through an outbound connection, so you do not have to open a port on your firewall. Cloudflare's plans page lists a Zero Trust Free plan at $0 for up to 50 users, and a Cloudflare community reply confirms the free plan covers up to 50 users, with all seats billable once you move off the free 50. Cloudflare's access page shows a $7 tier for teams over 50 users, which I read as a per-user price but could not confirm. Reddit users in r/selfhosted like that it avoids port forwarding, adds a WAF and lets them limit requests by country, while others point to extra latency, a 100 MB upload limit per HTTP request and dependence on Cloudflare. A competitor's comparison says Quick Tunnels need no account. It suits public self-hosted services that already sit behind Cloudflare.

Cloudflare's developer docs pricing page returned a 404 when I fetched it, so I could not read Tunnel-specific limits. The figure for the Zero Trust Free plan (up to 50 users, $0) comes from Cloudflare's plans page and a Cloudflare community reply. That Tunnel is free on that plan comes from Reddit and a competitor's comparison, not from a Cloudflare page I read. The $7 tier on Cloudflare's access page is for teams over 50 users. I read it as a per-user price but the excerpt did not say so. Traffic goes through Cloudflare, so you accept the extra hop. A r/selfhosted commenter lists added latency and a 100 MB upload limit per HTTP request as disadvantages, and the second figure was cut off in my excerpt. Check Cloudflare's current limits if you upload large files. I did not find a commercial-use statement or card requirement in the pages I read, so both are marked unknown.
Listed for up to 50 users.
Cloudflare's access page shows a $7 tier for teams over 50 users and solving narrow secure access cases without enterprise support services. The unit is not confirmed in my excerpt.
Custom pricing for larger deployments.
