Deno DeployFree tier and limits

Serverless JavaScript and TypeScript hosting. Free plan: 1M requests and 20 GiB of egress a month.

Sniffed 11d agoNo card needed#serverless#deno#typescript#javascript#edge#kv#hosting

Deploy TypeScript to Deno's cloud with a built-in KV store and custom domains. Deno Deploy hosts JavaScript and TypeScript apps on Deno's cloud, with builds, custom domains, a built-in KV store, logs and metrics. The Free plan costs $0 and includes 1 million requests a month, 20 GiB of egress, 10 hours of active CPU, 150 GiB-hours of memory time, 10 apps and 3 team members. Pro is $20 a month with 5 million requests, 200 GiB of egress and email support, and Builder is $200 a month. Pro overage is $2 per million requests, $0.20 per GiB of egress and $0.10 per CPU hour. Free has no sandboxes and no email support. I found no G2 or Capterra listing for Deno Deploy, so the evidence here is the pricing page plus a few forum threads. The pricing page shows a banner saying Deno is joining Cloudflare.

πŸ‘ Good boy

  • +The Free plan publishes every limit: 1M requests, 20 GiB egress, 10 apps, 5 custom domains and a KV store with 1 GiB of storage. That makes it easy to check against your own traffic.
  • +Free includes observability. You get 1 day of logs and 1 month of metrics without paying.
  • +Pro is $20 a month with 5M requests, 200 GiB of egress, 50 hours of CPU, sandboxes, email support and 10 team members.
  • +Overage rates are listed up front: $2 per million requests, $0.20 per GiB of egress and $0.10 per CPU hour on Pro.
  • +Idle apps scale to zero after about 20 to 30 seconds, so a low-traffic app uses little of the CPU and memory allowance.
  • +A commenter in the r/Deno community said they run Deno Sandbox in production and stay within the free plan limits. That is one commenter's report and the date is not shown.
  • +Builder at $200 a month lists 25M requests, 2,000 GiB of egress, 500 hours of CPU, 25 members and up to 10,000 apps.

πŸ‘Ž Watch out

  • βˆ’Review evidence is thin. I found no G2 or Capterra listing, and the forum threads I saw were sparse, so there are few outside reports on reliability or support.
  • βˆ’A post written by the Deno team and shared on r/programming in 2025 says Deno Deploy started in 25 regions, grew to 35 and now runs in 6. That is a vendor-authored account, but it means fewer locations than at launch.
  • βˆ’The Free plan is tight on compute: 10 hours of active CPU a month, 1 concurrent build, and no sandboxes or email support.
  • βˆ’Idle apps scale to zero after about 20 to 30 seconds, so a request after a quiet period can hit a cold start. I found no measured cold start numbers.
  • βˆ’Memory time is metered at 768 MB for each second an app is loaded, according to the pricing page. Check your expected traffic against the 150 GiB-hours on Free.
  • βˆ’The pricing page shows a banner saying Deno is joining Cloudflare. The page does not say what that means for Deploy plans, limits or pricing.

The catch

Free is a permanent plan at $0. It includes 1 million requests a month, 20 GiB of egress, 10 hours of active CPU, 150 GiB-hours of memory time, 10 apps, 5 custom domains, 10 GiB of revision storage, a KV store with 1 GiB of storage, 1M reads and 500K writes, 1 day of logs, 1 month of metrics and 3 team members. Support is community only, and sandboxes are not included. The tight limit for most apps will be active CPU at 10 hours a month. The pricing page also says memory time is metered at 768 MB for each second an app is loaded, and that idle apps scale to zero after about 20 to 30 seconds. Work out your expected traffic against both numbers before you rely on Free. Pro is $20 a month with 5M requests (then $2 per million), 200 GiB of egress (then $0.20 per GiB), 50 hours of CPU (then $0.10 per hour) and 750 GiB-hours of memory time (then $0.025). It adds sandboxes, email support and 10 members. Builder is $200 a month. Enterprise is custom. The pricing page shows a banner saying Deno is joining Cloudflare. I did not find details on what changes. I did not find statements about credit cards at sign-up or commercial use on Free, so both are left as unknown.
