BaaS & Low-code
No-code backend with a visual API builder. The free plan has 100,000 records and 1 workspace.
Build the API in a visual editor and let your front end call it. Xano is a no-code backend where you build APIs, business logic and a database in a visual editor, which front-end builders such as Bubble can call. The pricing page lists a Free plan with 100,000 records, 1 GB of watermarked storage, 1 workspace, 1 team member and 10 API requests per 20 seconds. Essential is $85 a month billed annually or $99 monthly, with unlimited records and 100 GB of storage. Pro is $224 billed annually or $249 monthly. G2 reviewers (67 reviews) call it a scalable place to keep business logic and one liked the MCP server, but another said it can be pricey as you grow and that a developer still ended up writing code. Reddit threads in r/nocode call it costly next to alternatives, though one user praised its support.

The Free plan allows 10 API requests per 20 seconds, which is a hard limit for anything with real users. Storage on Free is listed as watermarked, and the page does not say what that means for files you serve, so read the docs before you store user uploads there. Each plan on the pricing page is marked with a free trial. The page extract does not give a trial length, so I left trial days empty. Paid prices are lower when billed annually: Essential is $85 against $99 monthly, Pro is $224 against $249. Reviewer cost complaints are consistent. A G2 reviewer called Xano pricey as you grow, and r/nocode posters called the platform expensive next to alternatives. A Reddit post quoting 3 GB for $99 is older than the current plan table. I did not find Capterra review text. The Capterra listing exists, but my search returned only its description.

G2 reviewers describe teams that manage the backends of client applications, and Bubble developers who want a real backend behind a no-code front end.
A G2 reviewer said their developer still wrote a lot of lambda functions, so complex logic can pull you into code.
A r/nocode poster says it costs more than alternatives because it is a managed, complete backend. Another says costs across no-code platforms make scaling hard.
One r/nocode user said support has been really good for them. It is one opinion.
