ForminitFree tier and limits

Form backend API, formerly Getform. Free for 1 form and 100 submissions a month.

The product you may know as Getform, now under a new name. Forminit is the new name of Getform.io, a headless form backend that collects submissions through an API, validates data, blocks spam, stores files and sends notifications. The getform.io pricing page now redirects to forminit.com. The Free plan lists 1 form, 100 submissions a month, file upload with 100 MB of storage, email notifications, workflow, redirections, built-in validations and spam protection. Pro lists 10 forms, 5K submissions a month, webhooks, a REST API, Slack and Discord notifications, Google Sheets, CSV export and Zapier. Business lists unlimited forms, 50K submissions and branding removal. The page contradicts itself on paid prices: the plan cards show $16 and $50 a month while the page title and description say $19 and $99. Review coverage is very thin, with 3 reviews on G2 and 1 on Trustpilot. It suits developers who build the form in their own code and send it to an API.

πŸ‘ Good boy

  • +The Free plan includes file upload with 100 MB of storage, built-in validations and spam protection.
  • +A G2 reviewer said they no longer have to code custom backend scripts for every form, and called it plug-and-play with solid spam protection.
  • +A r/webdev commenter prefers a headless API like Forminit because they can build the form exactly as they want in their own code.
  • +Pro lists webhooks, a REST API, Slack and Discord notifications, Google Sheets, CSV export and Zapier.
  • +A G2 review of Getform said it is easy to use and allows custom email templates.
  • +Capterra describes Getform as a simple form backend where form setup is dead easy.

πŸ‘Ž Watch out

  • βˆ’Free allows only 1 form and 100 submissions a month.
  • βˆ’A G2 review of Getform said its functionality features are poor.
  • βˆ’Review volume is tiny: G2 shows 3 reviews for the seller, Trustpilot shows 1 review at 3.7, and Capterra lists 2 reviews.
  • βˆ’The pricing page shows conflicting paid prices ($16 or $19 for Pro, $50 or $99 for Business), so confirm before you budget.
  • βˆ’Webhooks, the REST API, CSV export and Zapier are listed only from Pro.
  • βˆ’Branding removal, a custom email sender and unlimited collaborators appear only on Business.

The catch

Getform changed its name to Forminit, and the old getform.io pricing URL now loads forminit.com. Reviews on G2, Capterra and Trustpilot are split between the old and new names, and there are few of them in total. The pricing page disagrees with itself. The plan cards show Pro at $16 a month ($190 billed annually) and Business at $50 a month ($594 annually), while the page title and meta description say Pro is $19 and Business is $99. I could not tell which is current, so open the page before you budget. The Free plan allows one form. That fits a single contact form or a prototype, and anything larger needs Pro.
