SaaS PuppyFree tier and limits

Free tier directory for indie hackers, checked by hand.

SaaS Puppy is a free-tier directory for indie hackers, solo builders and vibe coders. Each listing shows the real quota limits of a free plan, whether a card is required, whether commercial use is allowed, and the date it was last checked. The directory tracks 195 tools across 27 categories, with filters for no card, free forever, free trial, open source, self-hosted, verified and commercial use. You can compare two or three tools side by side, and submit your own tool for review. A public, no-login MCP server at https://saaspuppy.com/MCP lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, VS Code and other assistants look up tools and compare free tiers. Built and maintained by Rahul Parathy. Ads are labelled and the site says paying for a spot does not change how a tool is listed or checked.

πŸ‘ Good boy

  • +Shows real quotas, card requirement and commercial-use rules for each free plan
  • +Every listing carries a last-checked date
  • +Free to browse and compare with no login
  • +Public MCP server works with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other assistants
  • +Ads are labelled and the site says they don't change how a tool is listed

πŸ‘Ž Watch out

  • βˆ’Listings are checked by hand, so a quota can be out of date until someone reports it
  • βˆ’The public MCP server only has list_tools and compare_tools
  • βˆ’Fast-track review costs $29; the free queue takes up to 14 days

The catch

Browsing, comparing and the public MCP server need no account or card. Listing a tool goes through review: the free queue has a 14-day due date and the Fast track is $29 with a 2-day due date. Some links on the site are affiliate links.

Common questions

What does SaaS Puppy list?

Each listing shows the real free-plan limits, whether a card is needed, whether commercial use is allowed, and the date it was last checked. Pricing pages change often, so use Report a change on a tool if something is out of date.

How do I add my tool?

Use the Submit tool button on the site. Submissions go into a review queue. The free queue has a 14-day due date, and Fast track is $29 with a 2-day due date.

Can I use it from an AI assistant?

No. The public MCP address is https://saaspuppy.com/MCP and it needs no authentication. In Claude, add a custom connector with that address and choose no authentication. It offers list_tools and compare_tools, and excludes articles, drafts and editing.

Does paying change a listing?

No. Ads on the site are labelled Ad, and the About page says paying for a spot does not change how a tool is listed or checked.

Who runs it?

It is built by Rahul Parathy, an indie builder who kept getting caught out by free plans with hidden limits.
